Kansas City attorneys have bargain basement rates compared to lawyers in bigger markets. In 2010, Kansas City partners charged an average $387 per hour, according to sister publication Missouri Lawyers Weekly’s fourth annual Billing Rates report. Their counterparts in New York billed at an average more than double that.

This is our fourth year tracking attorneys’ billing rates as found in court filings. The result is an exclusive sampling of rates of 269 attorneys at 27 firms in Missouri and elsewhere.
