George E. Wolf III, whose last day as a Jackson County circuit judge was March 16, has joined Kansas City-based architectural, engineering and planning firm HNTB Corporation.
According to court spokeswoman Valerie Hartman, Wolf will serve as general counsel of the company.
Former Gov. Eric Greitens appointed Wolf to the bench in August 2017. Voters approved his retention in 2018.
Prior to becoming a judge, he practiced law at Shook, Hardy & Bacon for 31 years. He served on the firm’s executive committee and as chair of the general litigation and business services division.
He also served as chair of the Port KC Board of Commissioners and the Downtown Council of Kansas City Executive Committee and on the Kansas City Streetcar Transportation Development District Board of Directors.
Gov. Mike Parson has not picked Wolf’s successor. In February, the Sixteenth Circuit Judicial Commission submitted to him three finalists for the vacancy. They include Adam L. Caine, Ashley N. Garrett and Susan E. Long.
