In 2011, David Bub’s track record of success in court landed him the superlative of Missouri Lawyers Media’s “Winningest Defense Attorney,” a designation for attorneys who racked up the most defense wins at the year’s end.

Since then, Bub has continued his streak, routinely appearing on end-of-year lists for top Verdicts and Settlements for his defense wins.

Bub is a principal at Brown & James. His practice is focused on general defense, personal injury, premises liability, toxic tort litigation and insurance law. He has also carved out a niche in defending toxic mold cases.

In 2017, he successfully defended a group of businesses in a suit brought by the family of a woman who died after falling outside of a St. Louis-area Shop ‘N Save. The woman’s family sought $3 million at trial. The result was the 11th largest defense win of that year.

His other clients have ranged from landlords to restaurants and construction companies.

He regularly speaks on insurance issues, including on bad-faith litigation.

Bub earned his law degree in 1993 from Saint Louis University.
