Thomas Preuss founded Preuss | Foster Law five years ago to advocate for individuals wronged by corporations and insurance companies. Inspired by his mother’s work with quadriplegic patients, Preuss transitioned from defending companies to representing plaintiffs in complex injury cases. He partnered with Shawn Foster, who shared his passion for advocacy and moved from representing corporations to fighting for injured victims.

Under Preuss’s leadership, the Leawood-based firm employs five attorneys and specializes in compassionate legal support for injury cases, including malpractice, accidents and civil rights matters. The firm has achieved multi-million-dollar settlements in medical malpractice, trucking accidents, civil rights and product liability cases.

Preuss has established the firm’s Hallbrook office, which was recognized as Kansas City’s Coolest Office by the Kansas City Business Journal. He actively supports the Kansas City community through sponsorship and volunteer work with Camp Encourage, Big Brothers Big Sisters and LINC. The firm also provides a scholarship through the UMKC Law Foundation to support aspiring law students committed to making a difference in their communities.
