In 2020, one of his cases was among the top defense wins of the year, as tracked by Missouri Lawyers Media. In Caplinger v. Rahman, he prevailed on behalf of a doctor who used a bone-growth product during surgery on a patient, leading to complications.
Two years prior, in Hargis v. Morse, he won in Boone County on behalf of a doctor alleged to have negligently caused nerve injuries to a child during a difficult delivery. In 2017, he took part in four trials in three counties, all ending in defense verdicts.
A native of Little Rock, Malkmus earned his law degree in 1993 from the University of Arkansas. He worked for several firms and was a partner at Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin (a predecessor to today’s Husch Blackwell) before founding the Malkmus Law Firm.
Malkmus is a Fellow with the American College of Trial Lawyers. Missouri Lawyers Media honored him as a Law Firm Leader at the annual Missouri Lawyers Awards in 2019.
