2023 Unsung Legal Heroes: Melanie Mitchell

Melanie Mitchell has attended and supported dozens of trials over the years, some of which have resulted in verdicts exceeding tens of millions of dollars. One memorable matter involved 25,000 exhibits and required an 18-wheeler just to haul the documents across the country. Her work in trial preparation, organization, client contact and assistance to attorneys in discovery responses and document production is exemplary and helps to ensure that Humphrey, Farrington & McClain can provide top-notch service to those whose interests it represents.
What led you to choose a career in the legal field?
I started at age 20 in a law firm doing data entry, worked hard, learned on the job and was able to make a career out of it.
What is the best part of your job?
The work that we do and the people that we help.
What is something that would surprise people about you?
I have a daughter that plays professional soccer in Australia.
