Member Attorney, Knight Nicastro MacKay, Kansas City

Law School: University of Tulsa College of Law
When Allison Greenfield looks back at 2023, she will always remember joining the board of owners for Knight Nicastro MacKay as her greatest accomplishment of the year.
When she was a high school student, one of her teachers encouraged Greenfield to attend a youth forum on law. It was such a positive experience for her that she changed her career goal from marine biology to the law.
Now an experienced defense attorney, Greenfield has advocated for clients involved in some of the highest-profile cases in the Midwest. She focuses her practice on business and commercial litigation, insurance, premises and product liability and arson-fraud litigation. She also works in the areas of construction defect and transportation.
Her passion for law extends into her community service and involvement. She serves with numerous professional organizations, including her leadership roles with the Lawyers Association of Kansas City – Young Lawyers Section.
When talking with young lawyers, Greenfield advises them to invest in themselves, not only through networking with other lawyers, but also by attending as many client meetings, depositions, hearings or trials as they can. The best career advice she has ever received is to be professional and extend professional courtesies to colleagues, especially regarding deadlines.
What is your favorite thing to do away from work?
My husband and I spend time with our three dogs. We also enjoy our time with several nieces and nephews. Vacationing as much as possible and scuba diving are high priorities!
What is one of your favorite moments as an attorney?
Obtaining a defense verdict in a case with a long-time client, whom I also consider a friend.
