Founding Partner, Franke, Schultz & Mullen, Kansas City
University of Missouri
Age: 63
Practice area: Legal and medical malpractice defense
Advice for young lawyers: Be available to answer your incoming calls and emails, and express appreciation to your clients.
You didn’t know: I have two Cardinals World Series rings (1964 & 1967) handed down by my uncle Joe Schultz #3, Cardinals’ third base coach.
I might have been: Over the road truck driver.
Advice: The 3 A’s: Availability, Affability, Ability
Off the clock: Enjoying the sunshine and golf courses in Scottsdale
Favorite professional moment: When a rival opposing counsel asked me to represent him in a legal malpractice case; and when a farmer I represented passed away, his wife invited me to attend the funeral. She pulled me aside and offered me a piece of china she made for me to show her appreciation because she said she could not afford to me pay me (she didn’t know the insurance company paid). I still have it.
