Advice to younger lawyers: Don’t be afraid to admit you don’t know something. Integrity includes being honest about not knowing everything. Admitting when you don’t have the answer shows humility and builds trust, which are essential for maintaining credibility and fostering genuine professional relationships.

You don’t know: A relative had their home bombed by Al Capone affiliates in the 1930s because they were allegedly leaking information about bootlegging activities in Melrose Park, Illinois.

Best advice I’ve received: Work hard but always make time for family and friends, try not to take myself too seriously, and find ways to contribute to my community.

Off the clock: Spending time with family and doing anything outdoors like hiking, floating on Missouri rivers, or golfing.

Year’s biggest accomplishment: Growing a newly started law firm.
