A woman who suffered a spinal injury in a rear-end collision reached a $6.5 million settlement, according to her attorneys.

Andrew G. Mundwiller and Zane T. Cagle of The Cagle Law Firm and Derrick Good of the Thurman Law Firm, who represented the plaintiff, said the accident occurred in December 2020. It resulted in an acute fracture in the thoracic spine that required fusion surgery.

The plaintiff alleged medical costs but no wage loss and sought future medical and caretaking needs, Mundwiller said. After mediation failed, the parties reached the confidential settlement.
