Interviews set for Clay County judgeship

The 7th Circuit Judicial Commission will interview eight candidates on March 1 for a vacancy on the Clay County Circuit Court. 

The vacancy was created by Judge Janet Sutton’s recent appointment to the Missouri Court of Appeals Western District.

The applicant pool includes four associate circuit judges, one municipal judge and three attorneys in private practice. Two are women, and three report being minority applicants. The applicants’ average age is 45.  

The applicants are Louis Angles, Paemon L.H. Aramjoo, Corey A. Carter, Timothy J. Flook, Brandon G. Kinney, Karen L. Krauser, Calan T. McConkey and Alisha D. O’Hara.

The interviews, which are open to the public, begin at 8:45 a.m. at the Clay County Courthouse in Liberty. The commission then will select three finalists for consideration by the governor.
