The POWER List 2022: Mark D. Anstoetter

As someone who spent seven years working as an engineer, Mark Anstoetter has been able to bring together his experience in both science and the law to help clients across a number of industries including the energy sector, manufacturing, construction, food, beverage and agribusiness.
Today, the 1989 University of Denver graduate is co-chair of the Environmental & Toxic Tort Litigation Practice Group and regularly deals with matters ranging from toxic torts and class actions to environmental due diligence and transactions.
Knowledgeable in Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, CERCLA and RCRA matters, he has seen substantial success in resolving matters before the EPA, the Department of Justice and state agencies and is able to counsel clients on government investigations conducted by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.
Anstoetter has experience defending multi-party lawsuits over alleged chemical releases including those involving chlorinated solvents, petroleum constituents and lead and metals into air, water and soil. Noted for his use of Daubert challenges to exclude expert opinions, he is able to use his own background to better understand complex engineering and construction cases. Meanwhile, his work in agribusiness and food safety has dealt with issues from underground storage tank releases to fumigation-related claims involving storage and transportation of grain.
