Jewell Patek served as a representative in the Missouri House from 1997 to 2001. Now he walks the Capitol halls lobbying for clients ranging from energy providers to hospitals.
Patek held the district seat in rural northern Missouri while serving as a military police officer in the Missouri National Guard.
He managed U.S. Rep. Sam Graves’ first run for office and was a top aide in Graves’ D.C. office. He also worked for then-Secretary of State Matt Blunt and stayed close to Blunt’s administration when he served as governor.
In 2003, Patek founded his own Missouri lobbying firm. Its clients include Google, Spire, Evergy, Smithfield Foods, petroleum distributor Magellan Midstream Partners and the St. Louis Regional Convention & Sports Authority. He also represents several health care entities, including Centerpointe Hospital and North Kansas City Hospital’s board of trustees.
Patek earned his law degree at the University of Missouri in 1996.
