Armstrong Teasdale to close two U.S. offices, ends financial support for U.K. subsidiary
Staff Report//July 5, 2024//
One of the country’s largest law firms — Armstrong Teasdale — announced this week that it will close two of its U.S. offices and will cease its financial support for its U.K. subsidiary.
Armstrong Teasdale’s Salt Lake City and Boston offices will close later this year and have a target date of Sept. 30 to wrap up business, according to a news release from the firm. These closures will impact one lawyer and five business professionals in Salt Lake City and 10 lawyers and seven business professionals in Boston, according to the release.
According to its website, the firm has 18 offices worldwide and employs more than 360 practicing lawyers and 150 litigators.
In addition to the closure of its Boston and Salt Lake City offices, the firm will cease all financial support for its U.K. subsidiary in London and Dublin.
“The strategic move will not affect our ability to serve our international clients,” Managing Partner Richard Engel said in a release. “While in the coming months, the firm will likely no longer have a direct physical presence in the U.K. or Europe, we have long collaborated with international lawyers, including those employed by Armstrong Teasdale Ltd., through our various networks, and we will maintain these vital relationships to ensure seamless delivery of legal services to our clients worldwide.”
