The 21st Circuit Judicial Commission has released the demographic information for the applicants vying for a judicial vacancy in St. Louis County.
The circuit judge vacancy was created by Thomas C. Albus’ appointment as United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, the commission noted in its press release.
Before becoming a judge, Albus “was first assistant attorney general of Missouri, an assistant U.S. attorney and a lawyer at Bryan Cave LLP,” according to his judicial profile.
In total, there are 17 applicants for the vacancy. Of the applicants, nine are female and three are minority applicants. Eight of the applicants work in the private sector and nine in the public sector. The average age of the applicants is 49.47 years, according to the commission.
The commission will interview each of the applicants beginning at 9 a.m. October 21 at the St. Louis County Court Building. These interviews are open to the public.
