Erin Vernon is a trial attorney focusing on employment discrimination and retaliation. Before law school, she spent two years with Litigation Insights, a national litigation consulting firm, coordinating more than 30 mock trials, shadow juries and deliberation groups across the country.

Vernon co-founded Baldwin & Vernon Trial Attorneys in January 2026. Among her notable trial outcomes, she secured a unanimous verdict in under 45 minutes in Hernandez v. City of Kansas City in March 2025, resulting in nearly $1 million in compensatory damages for a whistleblower; the city manager was subsequently suspended and permanently removed from office. In late February 2026, a Cass County jury awarded $677,000 to her client in Denise King v. Menard, Inc., a disability discrimination case. In August 2022, a St. Joseph jury awarded $500,000 in emotional distress damages in a retaliation matter.

An earlier 2017 verdict in Tarshish Jones v. City of Kansas City prompted the Kansas City Fire Department to redesign its promotional processes following a finding of racial discrimination.
