Domestic Relations-Order of Protection-Mootness

Staff Report//July 1, 2026//

Listen to this article

Defendant appealed the trial court’s entry of an order of protection that was designated to expire on March 12, 2026.

Where there was no evidence that the order had been extended, its apparent expiration mooted defendant’s appeal, and the deficiencies of his appellate brief also precluded appellate review.

Appeal is dismissed.
