Gov. Parson names three lawyers to state boards

Gov. Mike Parson has appointed three attorneys to state boards and commissions.

of Cockriel & Christofferson in St. Louis was appointed to the Truman State University Board of Governors. Christofferson primarily practices in construction and business litigation. He earned his law degree from the University of Chicago.

, an alderman for the city of Bolivar, was appointed to the State Banking Board and Savings and Loan Board. Kifer is the president, CEO and director of Farmers State Bank in Bolivar and previously was vice president and general counsel for Mid-Missouri Bancshares in Springfield. He earned his law degree from the University of Missouri.

of the Law Offices of Vivek Malik in St. Louis was appointed to the Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents. Formerly of Lashly & Baer, Malik practices in immigration litigation and business immigration consulting. He earned his law degree from Mahrishi Dayanand University in India and a master of laws degree from the University of Illinois. Missouri Lawyers Media named him as an Up & Coming lawyer in 2010.
