Finalists selected for St. Louis County judgeship

The 21st Circuit Judicial Commission has selected Heather R. Cunningham, Shevon L. Harris and Jeffrey P. Medler as finalists for an associate circuit judge vacancy in St. Louis County.

Gov. Mike Parson has 60 days to appoint one of them to fill the vacancy created by the recent elevation of Judge Jason D. Dodson to the circuit bench.

Cunningham is a family court commissioner for the 21st Circuit. Harris is a solo practitioner. Medler is a partner at Medler, Karsten & Bridges. The five-member commission said Cunningham and Harris each received five votes, and Medler received three votes.

The three finalists were among 29 applicants the commission interviewed on Feb. 5. Originally, 30 people applied, but the commission said one applicant withdrew from consideration.
