Jewell Patek has remained active in conservative political causes since his three terms in the Missouri House.
He managed U.S. Rep. Sam Graves’ first run for office and followed him to D.C. as a top aide. Patek also worked for Gov. Matt Blunt when he was secretary of state and stayed close with Blunt’s administration when he served as governor.
He began representing a district in rural northern Missouri during his time in the House a year after he earned his law degree at the University of Missouri. He held the seat from 1997 to 2001. At the time, he also served as a military police officer in the Missouri National Guard.
In 2003, Patek founded his Jefferson City-based lobbying firm. Its clients include Google, Spire, Evergy, Cerner Corporation, Smithfield Foods, the petroleum distributor Magellan Midstream Partners and the St. Louis Regional Convention & Sports Authority. He also represents the Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption Association.
