Dirk Vandever, who in 1987 became the youngest president of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, has made an art of winning big verdicts in small venues.
In 2022, the top-rated personal injury attorney won a total of $4.1 million in separate trials for two young women injured in the same car crash in rural Linn County — the same county where a year prior he won $9 million for an injured motorcyclist.
Other large cases include an $8 million verdict for a Platte County man burned while priming an old car’s carburetor with gasoline.
