Three nominees submitted to governor for 21st circuit judge vacancy

Three nominees have been submitted to by the 21st Circuit Judicial Commission as possible candidates to fill a circuit judge vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Nancy Watkins McLaughlin.

The three nominees are Ellen Wyatt Dunne, Mondonna Lee Ghasedi and Julia Pusateri Lasater. All three nominees are associate circuit judges in St. Louis County.

Dunne earned her law degree from Saint Louis University, Ghasedi earned hers from the University of Missouri and Lasater obtained her law degree from Saint Louis University.

In total, the commission received 14 applications and interviewed all applicants during a day of public interviews on Wednesday.

According to the commission, all three nominees received five votes each.

“The commission is confident each of these individuals is capable of serving well and honorable if selected by the governor,” it said in a statement.
