Tad Eckenrode, founder and managing principal of Eckenrode-Maupin has taken more than 70 complex trials to verdict, winning nearly 90 percent of those cases. In January the firm became known as Eckenrode-Bauman.
In 2023, he led a successful effort to secure a unanimous defense verdict in 29 minutes after a four-day trial in St. Louis County. This case involved a patient who alleged that that she suffered a stillbirth because her OB/GYN should have delivered her baby earlier than scheduled.
In 2018 Eckenrode prevailed in a lawsuit for a mental health professional whose patient murdered his family hours after his last therapy session, resulting in the fifth-largest defense win tracked by Missouri Lawyers Media that year.
He earned his law degree from Washington University in 1983.
