The list of people tasked with redrawing the lines of Missouri’s state House and Senate district seats includes several lawyers.
Gov. Jay Nixon today appointed members of the bipartisan apportionment commissions.
The Democratic and Republican state committees each submitted 10 names to the governor for the Senate apportionment commission, and he chose five from each list.
The parties’ congressional district committees each submitted two nominees, and Nixon chose one member from each of the committees’ lists, for a total of 18 members.
The commissions expect to hold their first meetings in Jefferson City on April 5.
According to a list provided by Nixon’s office, the Senate apportionment commission members are:
