Commission announces selections for governor’s consideration to fill Peebles vacancy

The 22nd Circuit Judicial Commission has selected three nominees for the governor’s consideration to fill an associate circuit judge vacancy.

‘s candidate will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Barbara T. Peebles.

The nominees are Tanja Engelhardt, Brooke Hurst and Michael Walton.

Engelhardt earned her law degree from Saint Louis University in 2000 and is an assistant circuit attorney.

Hurst received her J.D. from Southern Illinois University in 2012. She is a St. Louis County assistant prosecuting attorney.

Walton earned his law degree at Saint Louis University in 1996 and is a family court commissioner.

The three candidates were chosen from a field of 23 applicants, per the commission.
