Gov. Mike Kehoe announced a new judicial appointment for the 11th circuit on Feb. 26. The new circuit judge will serve St. Charles County.
Robert Cornejo, from St. Peters, is a private practice attorney at Robert Cornejo Law who previously served as an associate circuit judge in the circuit. He served also in the Missouri House of Representatives for District 64 and obtained his J.D. from the University of Missouri.
Cornejo was appointed to fill the vacancy created by former Judge Matthew Thornhill‘s removal from the bench, according to Kehoe’s office.
Thornhill was removed from his position by the state’s supreme court after finding the judge’s political statements and Elvis impersonations from the bench were inappropriate.
