Pam Barker serves as the firm’s practice group leader for the Environmental Compliance Practice Group.

Barker said she “loves the law and when I started practicing in 1979 there weren’t many environmental laws, so I started practicing real estate.” She later transitioned to environmental law, focusing on the environmental aspects of real estate and corporate transactions and regulatory compliance.

Barker was involved in a large superfund case involving the Fox River in Wisconsin with cleanup costs over $1 billion, where she created new law that allowed her client to be dismissed. She has worked on environmental aspects of mergers and acquisitions exceeding $1 billion.

Barker anticipates significant changes in the practice, noting the current administration is not enforcing laws on climate change.
