The POWER List: Curt J. Chase
Staff Report//March 28, 2022//
Husch Blackwell, Kansas City
Curt Chase was the genesis of his firm’s practice in health care law and now leads its national team.
In 1995, then-Blackwell Sanders hired Chase as its first attorney to practice health care law. He had just earned his law degree from the University of Iowa alongside a master’s in health administration.
Since then, Chase has elevated himself into firm leadership as health care law’s increasing complexity prompted the firm’s practice area to bloom. In 2006, Missouri Lawyers Media had awarded him in its Up & Coming Awards in recognition of his expertise in the field.
Now a partner at the firm, he also has led Husch Blackwell’s Health Care, Life Sciences & Education industry team since 2013. He counsels clients around the nation on regulatory and compliance issues. Chase’s clients benefit from his experience in complex hospital/physician integration arrangements, mergers and acquisitions, and other aspects of transactional law.
He’s previously closed a $275 million transaction for his large hospital system client, which earned full operational control and governance of a system of three hospitals in Denver, Colorado.
