Seigfreid Bingham, Kansas City

Mark Thompson leads Seigfreid Bingham’s healthcare industry group, drawing on his decades of experience in health care law.

In his nationally focused practice, he advises health care clients on issues that include sales, acquisitions, governance issues, executive compensation, physician recruitment and licensing.

He worked on SSM Health’s 2013 acquisition of Audrain Medical Center, as well as the 2018 merger of Mountain States Health Alliance and Wellmont Health System to create Ballad Health, a health system serving residents in northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia.

Thompson serves on the board of directors for the Center for Practical Bioethics in Kansas City. He is a past president of the Kansas Association of Hospital Attorneys and the Missouri Society of Health Care Attorneys, as well as a past president and secretary of the Greater Kansas City Society of Health Care Attorneys, and he is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association’s Health Law Section.

He earned his law degree in 1980 from the University of Kansas.
