Stinson, Kansas City, Managing Partner

Allison M. Murdock

Allison Murdock officially became Stinson’s managing partner in 2021, but her role in leading the firm long predates that.

Murdock, who has spent her whole career with Stinson and its predecessor firms, previously served for 10 years as deputy managing partner under the firm’s prior leader, Mark Hinderks, and she has been a member of the firm’s executive committee for 20 years. She is the firm’s first female managing partner and was a Women’s Justice Award winner in 2018.

She helped bring about the 2014 merger of Stinson Morrison Hecker and Minneapolis-based Leonard, Street and Deinard that resulted in the firm that exists today. Stinson is the fifth largest firm in Missouri, with 2022 revenue of $273.4 million, according to the MOney 2023 issue.

As managing partner, Murdock helped guide the firm through the COVID-19 pandemic, instituting policies ranging from its permanent hybrid remote schedule to increased access to career-building work opportunities for younger lawyers.

She earned her law degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1988.
