Office Managing Partner, Kansas City

Wesley Fields became office managing partner of BCLP’s second-largest office in Missouri in 2019, becoming just the sixth partner to lead the Kansas City office since it opened more than 30 years ago.

One of just a few Black managing partners in Missouri, Fields has worked to help BCLP diversify its ranks and seek more women and attorneys of color as candidates for leadership roles.

Fields, who comes from a family of lawyers, has spent his entire career at BCLP and its predecessor firm, Bryan Cave. A Kansas City native, he earned his undergraduate degree from Yale before earning his law degree at the University of Virginia in 1998.

He maintains his practice in transactional law, including as the longtime general counsel to Kansas City’s Tax Increment Financing Commission.

Field’s civic involvement includes leadership roles in the Greater Kansas City Chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Kansas City’s Research Medical Hospital and Harvesters, a regional food bank.
