Austin Fax serves as managing member of Lowther Johnson Attorneys at Law, a general practice law firm in Springfield. With approximately 10 years of legal experience, Fax began his career at the firm as a law school clerk and has remained throughout his entire legal career.

As managing member, Fax oversees a diverse practice that spans real estate and transactional matters to personal injury and litigation. He said the firm’s general practice model represents both its greatest strength and his top management challenge, as attorneys with different specialties often have varying needs from the firm.

Fax explained that his leadership philosophy centers on ensuring everyone has the resources needed for success while cultivating a workplace culture where people want to come to work daily.

The firm has demonstrated strong retention rates, with several attorneys and support staff spending their entire careers there. Fax noted that recruitment presents the biggest talent challenge, particularly competing with larger firms offering higher salaries to attract young attorneys to southwest Missouri.
