Staff Report//October 11, 2023//
Senior Associate, Spencer Fane, Springfield

Law School: Washington University School of Law
A career in law is not easy to attain, but along the way, Charli Steed has received advice that has helped her succeed as an attorney. One message stands out.
“Be resilient and stay the course,” she says.
She pays it forward for other lawyers as they navigate their own careers.
“Don’t be reluctant to branch out, be yourself and stand up for yourself or others when needed,” she says. “Try to incorporate what you are passionate about in your legal practice, and if you do that, you will never work a day in your life.”
Steed, who works with both private clients and non-profit organizations, has had her eye on the legal profession since she was a child and viewed lawyers as individuals who bring about change.
“I wanted to be a voice and advocate for everyone, especially those underrepresented in the community,” she says. “Innately I knew that my compassion and skill set would help me become a fierce advocate.”
