Finalists named for Jackson County circuit judgeship

The 16th Circuit Judicial Commission has selected an attorney and two associate circuit judges as finalists for circuit judge vacancy in Jackson County.
Jessica M. Agnelly, Cory L. Atkins and Susan E. Long were picked from among nine applicants for the vacancy to be created by Judge Jack R. Grate’s retirement.
Agnelly is an attorney with the Wendt Law Firm in Kansas City. Atkins is an associate judge in Kansas City, and Long is an associate judge in Independence. According to the five-member commission, Agnelly and Atkins each received three votes, while Long received five votes.
Gov. Mike Parson has 60 days to appoint one of the nominees to the bench.
