At an early age, Lori Rook knew she wanted to be an attorney. She now owns Ozarks Elder Law practicing estate planning and asset preservation.

Rook earned her law degree at Oklahoma City University School of Law.

At first, Rook chose a career as a trial lawyer on the defense side and loved it. But as her family expanded, she began searching for an area of practice that would provide more flexibility.

Staying active in the legal profession and in her community has helped her build bridges and create a circle of support and mentorship. She offers a piece of advice to other women who may be interested in striking out on their own.

“I’ve learned there are plenty of people you can reach out to who are willing to give you advice, so don’t be afraid to ask for help and don’t be afraid to start your own firm,” she said.
