Former governor Jay Nixon brings his vast public policy experience to his legal practice. His appellate arguments have earned favorable decisions from both the Missouri Court of Appeals and the Missouri Supreme Court.

In 2018, he argued a Missouri Supreme Court case that cleared the way for a 780-mile line to carry wind-generated electricity through northern Missouri.

In 2022, Missouri Lawyers Media recognized him as a Legal Champion for his briefs supporting the development of a new state park and for clarifying the Department of Conservation’s spending authority.

In 2024, he received the Harry S. Truman Public Service Award.

He earned his law degree from the University of Missouri.
