In 2022, John Reeves represented a lender after a valet service failed to pay back a 2012 loan by its 2018 maturity date. His client was owed about $145,000 by the time March 2020 lockdowns began and the valet service could not operate. The Missouri Court of Appeals Eastern District determined that the company could not use the “doctrine of impossibility” to repay the loan.

Reeves co-founded The Missouri Bar appellate practice committee in 2019. He has received awards from the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers and the Municipal Lawyers’ Association for amicus briefs.

He earned his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 2007.
