Founder, Kansas City

Richard Lombardo served as co-lead counsel as a liquidator for General American Mutual Holding Co. after it collapsed in 1999.

Lombardo and his team (including law partner and fellow POWER honoree Leland Shurin) recovered more than $250 million on behalf of the receivership and policyholders, including settlements of $95 million and $100 million against international investment banks.

In 2017, Lombardo (along with fellow POWER List member Greg Leyh) won a $10.3 million judgment against the city of Kansas City after it ended a longstanding trash rebate program for multi-family building owners.
