Bartimus Frickleton Robertson Rader, Jefferson City

Chip Robertson served on the Missouri Supreme Court from 1985 to 1998 and as chief justice on this court from 1991 to 1993 before opening one of the state’s top appellate practices.

In recent years, Robertson argued a series of cases — including an appeal of a $38 million jury verdict over a girl’s birth defects from an anti-seizure drug — that determined the proper venue for out-of-state plaintiffs.

Robertson also was on the attorney team that worked to free Kevin Strickland, whose wrongful conviction for a triple murder was thrown out in 2021. He was special counsel to the Missouri House committee that investigated Gov. Eric Greitens before the governor’s resignation.

Robertson almost became a methodist minister and spends his free time painting.
