Lynne Jaben Bratcher, a partner at Bratcher Gockel Law in Independence, has practiced law for 41 years, specializing in employment discrimination and whistleblower cases. Licensed in September 1983, she tried her first jury trial in June 1984, becoming one of the first female trial lawyers representing plaintiffs. 

Bratcher has tried more than 100 jury trials, including notable cases such as Hernandez v. KCMO in March 2025, Diaz v. Autozone in 2014, and Stroud v. Kansas City Metropolitan Medical Society in 2005. She was a founding member of her all-female law firm in January 1995. Bratcher served on the MATA board of governors and was an instructor and board member at the Trial Lawyers College from 1996-2009.
