Scott S. Bethune, managing member of Davis, Bethune, & Jones in Kansas City, has practiced law for 37 years specializing in personal injury cases. Throughout his career, he has obtained numerous significant verdicts and settlements while maintaining what he described as a balance between zealous advocacy and professional collegiality.
Bethune has held extensive leadership roles in the legal community, including president of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and president of the Western Missouri/Eastern Kansas Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He currently serves on the Missouri Bar board of governors and previously served as commissioner on both the Appellate Judicial Commission and 16th Circuit Judicial Commission.
His commitment to legal education includes serving on the UMKC Law Foundation board of trustees, where he works to raise scholarship funds for developing future lawyers while supporting the school’s Advocacy Program.
