Maria SalcedoPartner, Shook, Hardy & Bacon, Kansas City

Maria Salcedo is a product liability litigator with expertise in legal writing and analysis. A University of Kansas graduate, she represents companies in smoking and health, toxic tort, and pharmaceutical and medical device cases across all litigation stages.

As a partner in Shook’s Legal Issues Group, Salcedo has written hundreds of briefs that often result in claim dispositions or expert opinion exclusions before trial. She currently leads motion practice for a major product manufacturer and has handled multinational product recalls for a U.S. consumer goods manufacturer in Latin America, the Caribbean and Australia.

Salcedo’s commitment to diversity and inclusion spans professional and community service. She served as president of the Hispanic Bar Association of Greater Kansas City and helped bring the National Hispanic Bar Association’s annual conference to Kansas City in 2017. 

She mentors junior attorneys and other professionals, believing that communities and businesses are stronger when members are included and valued regardless of their backgrounds.
