Staff Report//July 10, 2024//
From beginning her career in the legal field as a back-up receptionist in 2005, Shannon L. Wooten has worked her way up the ranks and now has been a paralegal for over a decade, working in civil litigation, education law, administrative law and more.
Wooten has aided attorneys in matters before the Missouri Administrative Hearing Commission, including due process claims brought by students and parents alleging violations of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. She said the earliest accomplishment in her role was working on a case that spanned over several years, in which her team obtained a favorable decision for their client.
What is the best part of your job?
Winning a case of course! More importantly, I am honored to work with very intelligent individuals who value everyone. After being in one firm for so many years, the people here become like a second family.
What is something that would surprise people about you?
My dream is to one day write a book that my husband and daughter would enjoy and be proud of.
