Missouri Bar elects four new governors to board

Four new members will join the 45-member Board of Governors of The Missouri Bar following elections that concluded Aug. 15.
In District 2 in northeastern Missouri, Judge Corey Moon of Monticello will succeed James D. McConnell.
In District 7 in southeastern Missouri, Mark J. Welker of Jackson will take the seat to be vacated by current Bar President John Grimm.
In District 10: Michael L. Miller of Springfield will succeed John E. Price.
In District 11, Bryan Sanger of St. Louis will succeed Judge Michael Colona.
Elsewhere in the state, 17 incumbents were retained. Most were uncontested, but in District 4 in Cole County, Jason A. Paulsmeyer was re-elected after a challenge from candidates Michael Todd Miller and Jeremiah Morgan.
The bar also is accepting applications through Aug. 26 to fill an upcoming board vacancy in District 9 in St. Louis County.
The newly elected and returning board members will take office at the conclusion of the 2022 Annual Meeting set for Sept. 14-16 in Springfield.
In a separate election ending Aug. 15, members of the Young Lawyers’ Section elected Jonathan Doss of Hillsboro to YLS’s District 13 in eastern Missouri. A former council member, Paige Sparks of St. Charles, was elected to represent a new District 7 in central Missouri. Eight incumbents were re-elected.
