In 2024, Sandberg Phoenix & von Gontard expanded its footprint in several practice areas, including real estate, when it merged with Affinity Law Group, a small St. Louis firm. This merger will provide clients with higher-level resources and support.

Sandberg Phoenix has been a staple in Missouri’s legal landscape and beyond since it was founded in 1979. The firm was launched with nine attorneys and today has grown to 180 attorneys in seven offices across Missouri, Illinois and Florida.

Led by CEO and Managing Partner, Bhavik Patel, the firm has achieved numerous successes over the years, including representing a local hospital organization in negotiating and preparing the design-build document set and title review for a new $600,000,000 children’s hospital in St. Louis.

The firm also represented an investor-owned water utility in the siting and construction of a new $38,000,000 treatment facility and obtained permission from the Illinois EPA for the first ever suspended solids trading modeled after air emissions trading.
