An attorney was disbarred by the Missouri Supreme Court after an investigation revealed he misappropriated client funds and engaged in misconduct.
The attorney, Adam Gohn, closed his Missouri practice and moved to Chicago prior to the investigation.
Gohn engaged in misconduct relating to fees, diligence, communication, client trust accounts, ‘non-refundable fees,’ and conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation, according to the investigation by the Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel.

Specifically, Gohn failed to properly maintain his trust account, paid himself from client funds he had not yet earned and failed to pay clients and third-parties.
The court disbarred Gohn on June 2 saying “this court finds that respondent, Adam Edward Gohn, violated Rules 4-1.3, 4-1.4(a)(1), 4-1.5(a), 4-1.5(b), 4-1.15(a), 4-1.15(a)(6)(B), 4-1.15(a)(7), 4-1.15(c), 4-1.15(d), 4-1.15(f), 4-1.16(d), 4-8.1(c) and 4-8.4(c) of the Rules of Professional Conduct and should be disciplined.”
Additionally, Gohn must pay a fee of $2,000 to the credit of the Advisory Committee Fund.
