Zane Privette had a front row seat to the practice of law watching his father hone his craft as an attorney. “Sometimes it was glamorous and other times not so much, but I witnessed the profound impact that this profession can make in the everyday lives of our clients and communities,” he says. “It was a no-brainer to follow a career path that allowed me to help people and give back to my community.” 

What advice do you have for young lawyers?

Find someone to mentor you, but don’t give up if you strike out a few times because mentorship may come from an unlikely source or even from someone that is known to not mentor people. You might just be the one they’ve been waiting to mentor. Don’t forget that soon it will be your turn to pay it forward.

What is something that would surprise people about you? 

I can play three musical instruments: mandolin, guitar and fiddle. I learned them in that order and do not profess to play any of them well, or that often anymore.
