Robert Haar has practiced since 1979, handling complex, highly publicized litigation across commercial, professional liability, intellectual property, securities, trust, environmental and constitutional contexts.

Haar represented the school district in the landmark First Amendment case Hazelwood School District v. Kuhlmeier. He represented an electrical utility regarding the 1.4 billion gallon Taum Sauk reservoir collapse and twice obtained rare dismissal of federal indictments for an urban redeveloper.

He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and International Academy of Trial Lawyers. Haar noted he is frequently called upon to defend large law firms. The Chief Justice appointed him to the Federal Judicial Center’s Committee on District Judge Education.
