becker Tim Becker, a 1991 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, is one of the country’s preeminent truck-crash litigators.

Becker is a member of the Association of Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America and the Association for American Justice’s truck litigation group. He is also a long-serving member of the board of governors for the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys.

Among his victories is a jury verdict for a man who braked to avoid a rear-end collision with a stalled vehicle and was struck from behind by a tractor-trailer truck. The $37.5 million win in Jackson County was the seventh-largest plaintiffs’ win of 2016, as tracked by Missouri Lawyers Media.

In 2008, Becker reached a $3 million settlement for the family of a man killed in a head-on collision with a truck in Kansas. The case was litigated in two counties in Missouri, setting up a fight over venue and jurisdictional issues, as well as a dispute about whether the $250,000 Kansas cap on noneconomic damages would apply.
