Jackson County names new court administrator

The Jackson County Circuit Court has appointed Beverly A. Newman as its new court administrator.

Newman, who will take on the role in February, succeeds Mary A. Marquez, who announced her retirement earlier this year after 35 years of service, the last six of which were as court administrator.

Newman currently works as court programs manager for the Office of State Courts Administrator in Jefferson City, where she manages programs related to pretrial services, treatment courts, juvenile justice and child welfare. She has 34 years of experience working in Missouri’s court system.

“We are excited to welcome Bev to our Court as our next Court Administrator,” Presiding Judge J. Dale Youngs said in a statement following the court en banc’s vote to appoint her on Dec. 2. “Bev’s extensive experience with the Missouri Court system at all levels will serve us and our constituents well.”
